Focusing their creative energies on competitive fun for all, our team of event specialists took this proven winner over the top.
After competing against their rival tribes in series of skillful games and fast pace challenges, teams must plan and build a most unique and funky island grass hut. Each tribe will be provided with most of the materials necessary for their artistic construction project.
Various lengths of rain forest bamboo are to be utilized for the main framing of the hut, strong hemp rope for securing the bamboo together, and freshly cut coconut palm leaves for the rain resistant roof. Colorful dyes and brushes are also available to give artists the tools to paint a story of their tribe's existence on the grass hut walls. As the hut construction project begins, tribal fashion consultants will adorn and body paint their tribal warrior or princess in preparation for the upcoming village beauty pageant and ceremonial conch shell blowing competition. As this phase of the event winds down, each tribe's most colorful story teller will pitch the custom features of their tribe's grass hut to the tribal council, hoping that their creation is voted the most original and desirable.
The final challenge is the raft building and paddle race competition. Utilizing bamboo, hemp rope and colorful floatation devices, each tribe must coordinate their efforts and build a hydrodynamic ocean worthy racing raft. Once all phases of the raft construction are completed, the tribes will parade their rafts before the judges and down to the ocean's door in preparation for the exhilarating raft races. As the first of several race heats begin, the paddlers will head out and around human buoys (lifeguards in float tubes) and swiftly paddle back to shore. The winners in each of the race heats will then battle it out in a head to head, paddle to paddle grand finale race.
Upon the completion of the day's festivities the tribal council will tally all activity scores and proudly present the top tribe with the prestigious "Survivor's of Volcano Island" medal of honor.
